Promerus’ PDM-5043 is useful for the alignment of liquid crystals in LC displays.
Features
Overview
Liquid crystal (LC) displays consist of several layers, including polarized films, substrates and alignment layers. The function of the alignment layer is to anchor and orient the LC.
Traditional methods to align liquid crystals require mechanical rubbing, which produces micro-scratches and defects. However, our photosensitive PDM-5043 material can be exposed through a polarized filter that makes it capable of anchoring and aligning LC with a low pre-tilt angle. This photo-aligning approach completely eliminates undesirable micro-scratches and defects.
